The project Interreg Euro-MED EnerCmed aims to promote the energy transition in port hinterlands through the development of Renewable Energy Communities, integrated with "Natural Based Solutions". The main goal is to create solutions that can combine the reduction of energy poverty in the most marginalized areas with natural based solutions capable of mitigating the heat islands typical of urban areas.
The project is being implemented in five residential areas of port cities in Spain, Croatia, Greece, and Italy. For each pilot site, the most suitable solutions for the specific needs of the case will be evaluated.
