The study, developed as part of the NESOI European Facility, The aim of this project is to develop several actions aimed at increasing the energy performance of urban bus transport in the city of Catania.
The renovation of the main bus depot includes the installation of photovoltaic systems on roofs, photovoltaic shelters for buses and service cars, upgrading of cabins and electrical stations and redesigning of lighting. The bus fleet is to be upgraded with electric motors and batteries, along with 23 slow-charging stations and three fast-charging stations.
